The sustainability interns and the co-directors of the Johnson Center for Environmental Innovation are working on Gustavus’ 2025 STARS Report – Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System. They are collecting information on student attitudes, habits, and knowledge regarding sustainability to submit to this report and to work towards making Gustavus more environmentally sustainable. The STARS Report is conducted every 4 years and ranks schools as Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum. In 2021, Gustavus earned a Silver Rating and we are working to get to Gold! The STARS Report is important because it is a measurement of our efforts in environmental sustainability and where we need to improve.
Some of the questions on this survey are meant to be challenging, and it is ok if you don’t know all of the answers! It is simply to gauge where we are at in sustainability engagement, curriculum and outreach. The culture questions are the same as last spring and the literacy questions are different.
