Do you or someone you know love to dance? The Dance Collective of Gustavus is a student organization that wants to spread the love of dance. Our goal is to foster a community of people who are new to dance, along with experienced dancers, to build relationships through the art and appreciation of movement.
We have some fun events scheduled for the semester – the first of which is happening on SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 21ST!
Karen Yang will be teaching a beginning/intermediate hip hop master class in Kresge Dance Studio from 1:30-3:00PM. She will also be on campus for a lunch meet & greet at NOON the same day!
She is an emerging Hmong-American dancer and choreographer born and raised in Minnesota. Throughout her journey with dance, her movement has been shaped and influenced by multiple styles, such as Hip Hop and House. Her own personal style consists of a lot of groove and flow. Karen has taught at Cypher Side Dance School, Straightline Dance Fitness, Klass MPLS, and The Workroom, and has worked on many great dance productions such as I’M FROM Vol.2, Mixtape: Side B, MP3 (Mixtape 3), and Abandoned Outlines: Part 2.
We are so excited to have her on campus and we hope you will join us. Registration is highly encouraged and can be found here.
